Online Data Entry and Geospatial Tools

External Data Framework (EDF) participants and organizations conducting water quality monitoring under a Nonpoint Source (NPS) Program grant agreement can enter their data online.

Individuals who have completed Hoosier Riverwatch training and who are conducting volunteer monitoring through the Hoosier Riverwatch Program should enter their stream water quality data directly into the Hoosier Riverwatch database online instead of through this interface. Likewise, Indiana Clean Lakes Program volunteers should continue to enter the data they collect into the Clean Lakes Program database.

Dual entry of the same data is not necessary for volunteer monitors interested in participating in the EDF. Based on the Office of Water Quality’s relationship with these programs, volunteers that submit their monitoring results through Hoosier Riverwatch and/or the Clean Lakes Program can be confident that their data will be automatically considered by OWQ for the potential uses described in the EDF.

Online data entry is most suitable for small EDF participants and NPS projects with smaller or simpler data sets with relatively few sites, results, and/or parameters. Using the options at the top of this page, new users can register themselves to get the required User ID and any organization for which they are entering data. Users can also register the sites they are currently monitoring and any new sites they might add. Once registered, users can simply select the Enter Data option at the top of the page to jump straight into entering their data for their registered sites.

If you are monitoring as part of a NPS Program grant project or have any questions about entering your water quality data online, please contact the Secondary Data Quality Assurance Manager with any questions regarding your options for data submittal.
